How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Getting ready for the cube coming and ensuring I have all my bits. I bought some Stalosan F and not sure what I have to do with it!

 

Do I sprinkle on the ground then lay the bedding on top or lay on the ground and into the bedding?

It is a powdered disinfectant so you can sprinkle it in the run before you put down the Aubiose, also in the poo trays and anywhere else that you want kept clean.

I do what it says on the pack. Each week I sweep the bedding in the run out of the way and put some on the slabs and brush it over then during the week I chuck a handful on top of the woodchip or hemcore in the run and rake it in, but I am a bit neurotic so probably overdo it.

Sorry if it seems obvious but I have no idea about this stuff and also do not have the packet as bought a smaller sample tub just in plain packaging!

I sprinkle it (along with garden lime) fairly liberally on the run when I've removed the top inch or two .

I, however, have run OCD and am always outside raking woodchip, moving branches and feeders, hiding meal worms! Got to keep these chickens on their toes!

OK, I have a really stupid question....what is Stalosan F? I'm in the States and we don't have hemocore or any other bedding I've read about except, of course, for wood chips. Maybe we don't have it here, but more likely I just don't know about it. I'm sooooo new to this. So new I won't have my cube or chickens for several months, but I'm preparing now!

Ever since you sent the link I've been Googling it. Hard to find in the US. I might be able to have it shipped from another state. I'll have to look into that. As I said in another thread, the States don't seem to be keeping up at all. We're a little backwards in the poultry department. That, or I'm just not finding it. I'll keep at it.....

There are other similar products, like Bio Dry. Try searching for something like 'livestock powder disinfectant'

I found something called Stall Dri. It's put in horse stalls to keep the oder down and says the bedding lasts longer. I'm going to try and compare ingredients and see if it's similar. I hope so.
