AliA
Hello, My pekin bantams were laying regularly up until around October last year and to date I have not had one egg!. I know that they stop during the winter but would have though they should have started by now. I have checked them over and they are in good health, lovely red combs and alert. Am I being to eager or do I just wait until they are good and ready?. Many thanks Alia
Baggins
Having only 1 Pekin bantam, I can't really speak from huge amounts of experience ... however, this is the 3rd winter we've had Matilda and it's the same every year ... She gives up laying at the end of the summer (August / September) and often doesn't start laying again until April. She wouldn't win any prizes for her egg-laying ability .... but she more than makes up for it in the personality stakes!
Cinnamon
My pekin came back into lay yesterday. I am expecting my other bants to come back into lay very soon too
SAB
My pekin bantam came into lay at end of summer - laid her first egg (size of a monkeynut) and promptly stopped laying - so I am looking forward to her coming "back" into lay! Faye&Ant
my pekins haven't started laying again yet this year and I wont hold my breath either!. Last year no sooner had they started they went broody and missed most of spring to autumn, then before you know it, its winter and they give up altogether fab little eggs when you do get though so worth their weight in gold

Jaime
My Gran always says if they love you they lay 14th Feb if not you might have to wait until the first day of spring 21st March. I suppose it can be anytime that the chooks are ready really
