Faverolles - wow!

Recommended Posts

When researching chicken breeds how did I miss faverolles?

They meet all my criteria for funky, large, feathery legged chickens plus they have their own little added bearded funkiness.

Perhaps something for the future...a retirement pressie for myself?

:D

Favs have somehow gotton on to our wish list too. It is because the guy we have got our other birds from has lovely salmon faverolles and they have sort of grown on us and have now become a "must have" too, along with some different coloured pekins - talk about one extreme to the other!

Now Janty :shameonu:

you've already infected my family with infectious brahmitis, a viral dose of favorellis would undermine all my attempts to prevent further exposure to chicken pax!

And we haven't even seen owt but the pictures!

:D

I'm NOT sorry.

So there!

Oh, they are SO gorgeous!!!

I want one (or two) too!! I must restrain myself - YS and I went on the course at Cotswold Chickens yesterday and came back with 3 new girls. I had planned to get 2 extra but YS fell in love with the chick he was cuddling through the course so we just HAD to take her home too.

AArgh!

another missed Omleteer meeting opportunity! Oh Lindy Loo, how did we miss each other? I'm so sorry I didn't introduce myself and chat chicken with you! We did enjoy watching Claret catch your new chooks and trim their wings with Rosie so very effortlessly! My lads told me all about 'the lucky boy who got to take his chicken home'... that was your lad and you were the 'wonder mummy'!

Oh and JANTY - you really are too too cruel  , showing off your chooks' fluffy knickers to those of us on an imposed chook-diet. You got the breeds just right though! Brahmas, favorelles and Scots dumpy are our dream chickens, along with really impossible Malays and Modern Game!

yes Mostin, you are the only thing standing between me and my addiction - STAY WHERE YOU ARE!

When that pumpkin come back to you, all clean and pressure washed, it will be all ready for it's new residents. I have been whispering to it that it's need to grow a bit to fit the new brahmas in until they can go in your cube  .

Hi Claire,

Two of the 3 new girls have names. The Goldline is called Treacle. As she is Jonathan's chick he got to choose the name. The White Sussex is Daphne (don't ask why) and we are still trying out names for the Speckeldy who has enjoyed being carried around the garden yesterday and today by various adoring children!

Our older boys are coming home on Saturday so no doubt they'll put their two penneth in regarding names  Oh, we all have chicken brains, oops sorry, chickens on our brains, in this household!!
