what have you fixed the glugs and grubs to? I had been thinking of selling them on ebay but they're kind of cool, especially the glug and I'd like to keep it if I can work out how to fix it onto something.

My husband made these little metal brackets. They are great!!!!

That looks good. Think I will have to pay a visit to b&q ad see what suitable thin metal bits/brackets/strips I can find. How do you attach the metal to the wood, can you drill through metal? Do you need a special drill? Will I look odd going round the shop holding a Glug so I make sure the metal is the right width?

I'm sure the folks in B&Q has seen everything.........I was in B&Q at 7.30 last night buying paving slabs. A very nice young man was assisiting me in my quest and foolishly asked what the slabs were for, when I said to put under my daughters new chicken house, he laughed.

I used the green clips to add another bit of wiring to the mesh and made sure the gaps were wide enough to hang the glubs on

yes sorry I was about to edit my message to say that, although any item that would work like this would be ok.

I don't even have any decent mesh, my run is just chicken wire so not strong enough to hang anything off. It will have to be attached to one of the wooden fence posts.

there will definately be something you can use, you just have to think about it and have a look around, something will work for you.

B&Q sell small sheets of weld mesh, I saw them yesterday. I think they were a fiver but you could cut them and get enough to hang about eight Grubs

There is a simple system in our house, things start off as mine and then promptly get snaffled by someone else . While in theory we have a chicken each......LMW seems to think they are her chickens. Still when the Cube arrives she can clean them out & feed them

I always hold with the Victorian belief that child labour is a good thing.

Child labour is definately a good thing, stops them getting up to mischief. Had LMW and her little wheelbarrow fully employed today moving earth so the new paving slabs could be installed

What about those rails (the flatter type) that you screw to your kitchen wall to hang kitchen bits and bobs from?

i used a peice of pine panelling the other end to the grooved edge is ideal for hanging them on.

Do you hire her and wheelbarrow out?? We are due to start laying slabs at weekend and I am not looking forward to moving the earth out.

She is available this weekend but I'm not sure that Mr Webmuppet would want to bring her and her wheelbarrow all the way to Cambridgeshire (unless you have a handy sailing club just down the road )

 

She works for vast quantities of biscuits ( she eats more than the average builder )

I bet she would prefer to be paid in Chickens!
