Warm boot recommendations please

At the moment i have 3 girls in an eglu with run plus converter and 3 girls in their own wooden coop which has a very small run. They're free ranging together under supervision.

 

Im just wondering if its possible to connect two runs together with the converter ? Or would an extension provide enough room for 6 ? Then i could when necessary put all 6 in together when they cant freerange. I would provide an outside nest box of some sort and the new girls could still sleep in their wooden coop.

The converter has one slanted end to join to the run and lne straight end to join to an extension, you would not be able to add another run unless you bodged it with some sort of overlap or something.

 

If you put the smaller end of the new run to the end of your converter there would need to be a big overlap, if you put the bigger end to the converter then the smaller end won't fit the door bit very well

 

Us Omleteers are a resourceful lot so you may be able to make ot work

 

6 chickens would be quite a few for a 4m run but if I remember correctly you let yours free range so you may just get away with it

Thanks Tasha. Will have a think and discussion with DH, he may be able to make a bigger run for the new girls. I was after the free run but looks like I've been pipped to the post! If DH doesn't think he can make something i may well be after your extension

Someone extended their run by bending strong weldmesh and adding it to the end which I thought was very clever
