Hi there,

 

I have moved the eglu onto my last remaining piece of grass, ha ha!!, and thats going to be its final resting place.

 

I want to make it look pretty, can anyone email me photos of how that have made a border around there eglu, or with any different ideas? I dont want to build a full aviary, but just a simple border, maybe just log roll and bark.

 

I can only find top of the range aviary's on the forum. I just want some poor relation ideas!!.

This is my current set up although the grass is now covered in bark.

 

I just used log edging that was on sale in B&Q

Here's a picture of our cube when first set up last July - there is more planting around it now and we have also added purple slate around the outside of the cube within the edging and a path on the far side. The edging is decking planks which we painted from B & Q.

[Ain't Nobody Here]

I got some green wavy lawn edging from B&Q at the weekend. It was all reduced to next to nothing. I got 10m for £2 . They had different heights and lengths on offer.

How do you keep log role edging from falling over? Do you bury part of it, or are there spikes or something else you use to keep them upright?

It doesn't look so neat now though. I didn't want to put stuff around the edge of the run, as I move the Eglu and run onto the patio when I give it a good scrub. Give the chippings a good rake over then too. Also need to be able to move it when I change the chippings for new ones.

The edging I got had spikes, one at each end and one in the middle.

I am going to use the wicker edging from Wilkinsons, suggested by someone else ( sorry, can't remember who). Its £4 for 2 metres, and higher than the green plastic lawn edging stuff which I started out with.

thank you everyone for your great ideas, I will go to focus or wicks tomorrow and buyt some log roll I was thinking about making it square but now I'm thinking outside the box and maybe make it a circle, at least I wont need to worry about it going wonky!!

the wicker edging looks great, except I havent made a border I have got it right up flush to the cube, it is the best thing I have tried for keeping all the bedding in. I am trying to decide what to do with my eglu ewhen that comes on friday, I wqant to move it around ots but obviously the grass isnt growing back at the moment so I just have a selection of bald patches and my lawn really isnt that big.
