Dory Laid her 1st egg today on the first day she woke up with the older girls, What a clever girl she is! 43g

 

not the best picture.. but....

 

edited to add one of the 3 eggs today from Sugar, then Cocoa, then little one from Dory sorry this photo came out lighter... rubbish camera phone.

I think she was really 'taken' with the cube nestbox, she loved it!

 

I have 3 eggs now, they have all laid except Flo.... They probably did tell her what was what..

I know.. and she's crouching... well it's a semi crouch.. not a completely flat one like the others. I tried taking a photo of her cheeks today and thought wow that was a close shot and it's just not clear, but they are definately yelowy green so I think green.

 

I am so proud of my clever Dory though, to wake up in a strange cube and run and then lay her egg needs a good egg award, Omlet!!! she needs a medal!

It's funny Tasha but I was reading the thread about bluebelles eggs and they say they are rounded I am a happy chook mummy!

 

I dont even know how she knew to lay in the nest box though, becuase the others laid after her!

there were two softies in the poop trays this morning!!! so I am guessing thats Dory as the others do not lay or sleep there. Plus Sugar has just laid as normal and Cocoa normally follows.
