Mrs Frugal
Use it sparingly, Kate - a little goes a long way, it lasts for ages and the shine is wonderful. I polish the wood using the beeswax once a month or so then just use one damp duster and a dry duster to take off the dust and buff up the wood after that. Looks good, environmentally friendly and easy on the washing machine too!!
Cate in NZ
Thanks for the advice Kate. Strangely the itching to get polishing has worn off now . I'm sure it'll come back when I smell the polish again tomorrow
Mel (& Paul)
If you get desparate to do some polishing, feel free to come down here to deepest darkest dorset

Mrs Frugal
Same here, Kate - isn't it annoying how we so desperately WANT to do the housework but feel that we can't leave until we've read just one more posting !!! I can feel my Eglu bum getting bigger by the second!! Must go and do some dusting to work it off.............. .............I'll just read one more posting before I go though . Mel (& Paul)
Please STOP posting. I have been working at home this morning, and havent got nearly enough done as I keep on stopping to see what's on!!! Not only might I end up divorced (with eglu-bum and eglu-eyes ) but will probably be jobless too and living in a filthy house.......... Mrs Frugal
Well, that makes two of us, Mel !
Mel (& Paul)
perhaps we need to set up a club for women divorced by their men for spending too much time on the forum, with large eglu-bums, covered in large pants, and failiing eglu-eyesite, with dirty houses (but when they are clean they dont kill the environment) who eat lots of eggs........ Mrs Frugal
We've already got one, Mel - it's called the Omlet Forum !

That just about sums it up, Mel! Poor LSH didn't know about the forum when he took his vows, and absolutely can't understand my enjoyment of it! No use explaining, I'll have to ration the time on it! I did spend 3 hours tidying (moving piles from one room to another) & cleaning this morning. ComputerMan was coming & I thought it might help if he could find the computer & see the keyboard. Last minute panic, no time to read recipe, cleaned keys with vinegar! Probably thought I'd eaten fish & chips at the computer. But at least I can read the letters on it now And, now the computer is on, just had to have a quick look.
Lesley
To all the above. - I've got American house guests at the moment - my house is clean (for a change) but I am missing the forum
Sheilaz
Not as much as we're missing you Lesley! But you'll def. get Omlet eyes when you try & catch up!

Sheilaz
These are great I've reprinted them for my step mum and various friends. Any more up your sleeve ??? You mean our large pant/omlet eye anecdotes! Oh, the cleaning recipes
Mrs Frugal
Those are the ones I use all the time Debby. I don't make any others as they do the jobs required so well but if I see anything else useful or any handy green cleaning tips, I'll pass them on through the forum! DebbyTutton
Thanks I'll keep an eye out. Although, as you say, these should be all we need. Thanks again
Lesley
Not as much as we're missing you Lesley! But you'll def. get Omlet eyes when you try & catch up! Thanks Sheila - I am keeping up but only have time to read and not reply much - it's killing me. I'm not very good at keeping quiet (in my Forum persona anyway!) This is 'important work' that I have to do on my computer

Thanks Sheila - I am keeping up but only have time to read and not reply much - it's killing me. I'm not very good at keeping quiet (in my Forum persona anyway!) This is 'important work' that I have to do on my computer But it IS important Lesley!!!! I have a mother in law with me at the moment- fancy a swap - one mother in law for a legion of Americans - I think that I would have the better deal My mother in law thinks I am working when I am on the computer!! ha ha!!!! Sheilaz
Its quite an art isn't it? I hold up important pieces of paper & hold a pen if anyone is passing door or window (far too many people, go away!) and look puzzled as if tackling major work! Then I spoil it by laughing out loud at your anecdotes, and the fact that chicken avatars are dancing aroungd the screen Great fun though, keep up the good work everyone, it certainly makes my day! Mel (& Paul)
Yup, I think the forum is the only thing that is stopping me from committing matri-in-law-cide!!!!! (did I mention she brought a bernards matthews turkey roll roast thing (yuk yuk yuk) how many krispy kremes did you get
Mrs Frugal
did I mention she brought a bernards matthews turkey roll roast thing Oh dear, that IS nasty!! Did you serve it up for her and eat proper food yourselves ?
Mel (& Paul)
Nope, its sitting festering in the freezer until she goes home and then will accidentally fall into the rubbish bin outside - oops! Trying to get her to realise the benefits of healthy eating but she is of the "cook vegetables till they are a mush", boil meat (urgggghhhhhh!!) kind of school - I think it is her era and upbringing - when it was the done thing to overcook the food and she has never got out of it Oh well, one step at a time I suppose...... Lesley
I've given up and have lost the will to live Home-made? Haven't you got Heinz ketchup?/Marvo Whip Mayo?/proper bread?/proper cereals? - you have to add sugar to these! I have hidden my decent chocolate - I don't mind sharing with people who appreciate it but...... The house is covered in bowls of candies (no Krispy Kremes) Coffee machine doesn't know what has hit it and I narrowly avoided McDonalds yesterday with a manoeuvre worthy of top class Rugby. McD's is near the Theatre and we didn't want to be late for that did we? We stopped making home-made in bulk and took them shopping (with their money!) so now the house is full of Bernard Mathews Turkey ham and assorted rubbish. They eat their rubbish and we eat home-made versions ................... and I tell them why if they ask - but they don't believe me Having a lovely time - wish you were here Lesley
