After weeks and weeks of not running, we got chookcam back up and running yay!

 

If you look now you'll see the girls enjoying their free range together with my girls!

Yeah that was me getting the washing in getting a bit damp out there now for washing

I wish I was technical enough to set one up at mine, then I could check them when I'm at work!!

 

Mind you if I saw them being naughty, I might have to make a dash home or ring the neighbours!

 

How difficult was it to set up etc?

Hi ya,

 

Was quite easy to set up, hubby did it, he's very techy, knows his computer stuff so he's used to it. He drilled into the roosting bars and mounted the camera there. It's very handy to keep an eye on what they are up to.

 

I went next door to the neighbours for coffee and kept a check on them over the fence, but when I wasn't looking they sneaked into a part of the garden they know they are not allowed, when I came back and I called them they came running like 3 naughty little girls!

It's powered by mains via a lead through the garage wall.

Yeah it's their bedtime now, they gone in. Try again in the morning, you'll see them eating and scratching around then. They freerange each afternoon from around 3pm-4pmish til sunset.

i've seem them ! one was busy pecking, and the other was trying to sleep but kept opening her eye every now and then. it was like she knew i was watching, he he. They got massive combs, what breed are they and how old ?

Hi ya,

 

Not sure exactly how old but are around 18mths I would say.

 

They are a Columbian Blacktail (Calder Ranger) a Columbine (Skyline) and a Speckledy.

 

They are enjoying their free range at the moment.

I'm soooooooooooooooooooo jealous! I asked OH to set one up for me and he thought I was mad....can now show him your website.

 

Can you ask your OH what camera he used.

Yeah will ask him when he gets in. You not mad at all, it's a fab idea, I can sit in comfort of inside and keep eye on them without being out there.

Yaaay! I saw them Your girls are lovely.

My hubby has bought me a webcam for my run after I showed him someone elses thread. (anniversary pressie ) We had it working briefly on Saturday, but the power supply needs sorting out before it can be left on - I can't wait.

They going to bed now, just had a treat of tuna and sweetcorn. It's tuna pasta for tea tonight so they got a little of it before I added to dish!
