Here's my latest lampshade makeover:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think next time I'd do thinner panels, and more of them, but I still quite like it. It's easy enough to do all the prep, but it's tough to sew - a 'two thimble and still ouch' job when you're sewing through the base lampshade!

Wow, that looks lovely! (all the handsewing would put me off I end up like a pincushion at the best of times) I love the fabrics you chose

 

Edited to add - just looked at the tutorial, not as much hand sewing as I'd first thought! Looks brilliant, and a great blog - another one to put on my browse list

Wonderful! I'm itching to make one Although I would totally cheat and use my old sewing machine to stitch through the edge of the lampshade - that Jones will punch through anything!

Wow! You can use it to sew round a pre-shaped (over a metal frame) shade?!
