We had one with just a membrane (white sack) a feww weeks ago...chicken was fine & carried on laying normal eggs! (until her funny eggs today, silly hen).

Its probably a once off and nothing to worry about but I'd keep an eye on her just in case.

Never heard of one with a fully formed egg&shell inside...interesting stuff.

Anyone would be concerned (I get concerned at hte slightest thing so I feel for you), but you should try not to lose too much sleep over it.

Make sure you give us an egg update tommorrow!

Sometimes they have a day off after a particularly large egg or a softie or anything strange (like your egg) so I don't think missing a day is much of a bad sign. Do check her over if you get too worried e.g. eyes/crop/comb etc.

Definitely nothing to worry about - it is very rare, but it does happen that they can lay an egg inside an egg, so it's feasible that the 'outer' egg could be a softie. It might be a sign that she is going to have a break for a few days. Providing she is happy and healthy and scratching about as normal, don't worry :D
