ted
Do chickens make more noise when they have just started laying or will they continue to do this forever?? My two leghorns make an incredible amount of noise around their laying. They seem to take ages and go up and down the stairs then one sits for ages whilst the other prowls and screams. the first comes out after not laying then the second has a go. Yesterday this went on for about 4 hours with one egg being the result?? Is this wierd...
Egluntyne
Leghorns are noted for their noisiness. One of my Fenton Blues behaves similarly. Previous noisy ones (at egg laying) of mine have quietened down, so maybe it is the novelty of the situation, and once they get the hang of it, they shut up. Let's hope so. Electricbarbarella
Ok can I ask what breed are Shirley and Charlotte? We were looking at some like them at graves park and were wondering what breed they are and what colour eggs they lay? Thanks, sorry for the hijack. ted
The eggs we have had so far are meant to be white but they are not as white as some I have seen... They are also nutcases...
