Just been to see my ducks at the bottom of my garden and my runner duck millie has drowned in shallow water over night im so L brought her up from a day old and l cant believe this has happened she was only 18 months or so and was perfectly heathy l feel so angry as well that this could of happened.

Oh, that is a shame Tara - do you have drakes as well?, I can't remember. Sometimes drakes will not leave a duck alone and will tread her in the water and sometimes they do drown.

 

This happens a lot in the wild if the proportion of drakes is too high for the number of ducks and is horrible to witness as there's nothing you can do about it when they're on lakes and rivers.

They are all ducks her sister is looking for her she has calls and katie her other indian runner friend but her and her sister were always close.I just never knew about ducks drowning since then ive given them a different tub and there not aloud water over night to bath in l go out in my wellies and uncover it (not a pretty sight) in the morning
