Snowy
Hm I think an egg skelter would look quite cool on the top - loaded with pretty painted fake eggs or blown eggs
craftyhunnypie
You could make the eggs look like people on a fairground helter skelter! Emma.x
Falkor
If i was brave enough and could find it I would post the pic of me winning the school easter bonnet competition when I was seven (blimey that`s 20 years ago!) My mum had a big floppy straw hat leftover from one of her questionable outfits she wore when she was younger. She was all the rage apparently! She just made LOADS of tissue paper flowers by layering different coloured tissue paper discs, pinching them in the center and wrapping a piece of wire around the pinched bit. Make sense? She then poke the wires through the straw hat and twisted it it stayed put. I had to wear another hat inside to stop the wires stabbing me in the head! She added those little fluffy chicks you can buy and some cardboad eggs. All topped of with a BIG yellow bow tied under my chin with trails so long I kept tripping over on them You could make daffs in a similar way and use painted egg box bits as the funnel? OR another year she got us to make our hats and just make a ring of card to fit our heads, drew some outlines of lambs, chicks, eggs etc and them we glued screwed up bit of tissue paper onto the card to colour the shapes in! I would put money on it that all said hats are in boxes up in my mums loft "just in case"
Chook n Boo Mum
I do like Snowy's idea, although it may be a bit heavy, could Dad "mock up" a lighter one in wire, with flowers, eggs & chicks wired on.......? Nothing like leaving it to the last minute like I do ! Hope all's well with you F, no windsurfing this weekend, the weather's beautiful! Rhapsody
If the brim is floppy starch it up to form a basket and fill with eggs and bunnies, etc. A handle attached over the top looks good too made of wire and plaited garden twine. I once made huge donkey ears sticking out for my son and he loved it!
