New ordered to pick up on the 3rd (saved £30) Ordered without wheels (saved another £50) because it is butting up to new WIR so don’t need them.

 

WIR is nearly finished.

 

Two set of girls are free ranging nicely together.

I just ordered mine too! Went for a It made me feel nervous spending that much money but I can't wait to get it! I just can't contain my excitement! Haven't been able to do any work for the last hour!

My Jasper sits on the ground and has become the most expensive nestbox ever, as all 7 of my healthy girls bundle into Liberace to sleep !

 

The batties are venturing into Jasper now whilst they are free-ranging, Lily & Peanut are even laying in there, so maybe one day they will be happy to sleep in there...once we are brave enough to leave the batties in the WIR with all the big healthy girls !

great without the wheels will it still have a frame or is the cube going on the ground? I didnt realise u could buy without wheels ?

The cube will sit on a brick and wooden ‘chicken cupboard’ outside the run. It will give me somewhere to store some the chicken bits. Not the food because that is in metal bins. My OH was going to build it under the cube to fill the dead space and then thought it would be easier to do with no legs and it saved money. This way he can get it the best height for the run and the girls.

That's really exciting! We love our new recon green cube and currently have two separate flocks of girls (I use that word loosely, as there are only two in each group!). The big girls still live in the eglu as they peck the new girls. The new girls are coming into lay so they will be getting more assertive, I'm sure!

great idea! if build it so the cube is lower, the ladder will be lower and you wont have them having to hop about a foot up in the air to the first step.
