Just had a call from the boss; he'd stopped at a service station for a comfort stop and there was an armed raid in progress. Police with machine guns and riot gear stormed the Travelodge and hauled this guys out, pinned him down and stripped him before putting him in a white suit.

 

I can't remember where he said it was, Nottingham or Leicester I think.

 

All very dramatic.

Oh dear. Sounds like Alan Partridge took his 'big dinner plate' thing a bit too far. And way outside of Norwich. It would never have worked.

Exactly, K couldn't believe it either; very entertaining by all accounts.

 

Apparently they weren't just armed (the police that is) they had machine guns!

K is back in the office, said it got quite scary - they were locked into Costa Coffee for their own safety... I can think of better places to die myself

 

K was more worried that they might scratch his car!

They must have suspected drugs or terrorism to take all his clothes and belongings off him then and there, so we probably won't hear anything on the news. It was probably a special op. How exciting to see.

I can think of worse places than Costa packet coffee to die. At least you'd go out on a high!! Joking aside the gun crime is very scarey, at my sons school on Friday a pupil took in a gun - they had police and sniffer dogs and were confined to classes. Some girls were hysterical, to top it all they had a mufti day so the police were going ape as they didnt know who was who. Anyone know where I can get him a bullet prrof vest? Its not funny but if I sat and thought about it I would get really stressed and I dont need anymore of that.

My friend and I found ourselves surrounded by an armed response team with machine guns and baying Rottweilers, a helicopter, the lot, when we were on our way home from Christmas Shopping at Meadowhell two Christmasses ago.

Time for some of that cranberry vodka we all made to Cinnamon's recipe last year.

I was clearing out the cellar yesterday and rearranging some preserves when I happened upon a few bottles of CV.

I had to sample one, for restorative purposes you understand .... well, it was cold hard work in that cellar.
