Egluntyne
Fear not! I think we might just be okay According to Farmers Weekly the levy per chicken is 4p. On Defra's consultation paper (Annex 9 Thresholds for payment of registration fee) the table shows that they would not collect from any premise with less than 397 chickens as the cost of invoicing would be greater than the revenue collected. This means that we can all have 396 chickens and not have to pay the tax - I best go and buy some more then That's a load off my mind! I was dreading having to find that £1.28. Phew. Blackrocksrock
It would have cost them more than my 24p to cash the cheque!!!!!!!!!
MedusA
Can I pay in eggs? Half a dozen should more than cover my girls' tax bill.
Alis girls
my first thought was this is an April Fool, but it was posted b4 the 1st. They'll be taxing all pets soon - I'll be paying a fortune with 2 cats, 2buns and 4 fish as will many on this site who have mini zoos!!
