Laboured Breathing

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone can put my mind at rest, when I got home today I went to let the hens out of their run. Usually they are both keen to come out, Persephone was not as keen as usual.

When they were both out of the run, Parthenope started pecking as normal, but Persphone was a little slow and I noticed she was opeing her mouth to breath. She followed me up to the house (as normal) but then just stayed next to the house. She ate some sweetcorn but isn't herself, so I put them back in the run.

There doesn't appear to be anything obviously wrong with her physically but she does seem to have laboured breathing. I went and had another look at her and she is just standing in one place in the run.

Does anyone have any ideas.

Mark
