this guy came to our school the other day to speak to the big kids (years 10 and 11 - or 4th and 5th years to those who dont do years )

 

anyway...

 

he is the surviving son (one of the surviving children) of Wilma McCann - the first victim of the Yorkshire Ripper (Peter Sutcliffe)

 

this guy had one horrendous life - imagine the worse - and add another pile for good measure

 

he had been in foster care a number of times BEFORE his mum died (he was 5!)

 

his dad was abusive, he had a lousy time in school, he left with no qualifications and was homeless (before he got to 16)

 

anyway, he kept his head by positve thinking and everything had a reason (even his mums death)

 

so

 

he had over 300 students and 10 staff on the edge of their seats for nearly 2 hours

 

if you get chance to read his books, or see him speak, go, he was inspirational.

 

I am going to read his books.

Oh i would love it if he could come and speak to the students i teach, he sounds like a true inspiration!
