4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Ok, so I only put these in the veg patch yesterday. I'm a total novice with spuds - when do you dig them up as no idea how long they take to grow.

They might not work, as I think I was a bit late in planting them - they were all sprouted though & I bought them as a kit sort of thing.

I sound daft don't I?

Not late for planting them at all Emma - our potatoes all went in just before Easter - and would have been Easter weekend but we were busy. We planted some Rooster as well.

 

I can't remember how long they take - someone will know though.

Phew - thank god for that. I have lots to learn, but got nearly 5 years before we move & I can grow more.

I've only just planted mine. They take about 12 weeks to mature and are ready to dig up when they've flowered.

What type are they? Our earlies went in early March and once the flowers are out we start using them as 'new pots', then we move on through the second earlies, early main crop then late main crop. The last ones were planted this week. They will start being picked late May, June, August & Sept respectively, though all planted within 6 weeks of each other - the later ones get dug up after the flowers have died off.

rooster are a maincrop potato so should take approx 15-20 weeks before harvesting

I've also planted any leftover seed potatoes in tubs and stuck them in the greenhouse to get a slightly earlier crop.
