This is a very basic question but wondered if anyone had any ideas.

 

My CD slidy thing on my computer (you can tell I am a techophobe laready can't you! ) won't open.

 

It has been a bit temperamental for a while and I thought I had it solved by keeping a blank CD in there and then it would open. However, in an absent minded moment I have shut it without a CD in and it is just clunking at me and remaining stubbornly shut.

 

Any clues as to what I could do (short of banging it!)

Stick an unbent paperclip into the tiny hole at the front. That should open it .

Dr Fred is right again. I tried a bit of a prising method but it is now well and truly crocked! Onto my PC man to see exactly what I need to get now!
