Raina
Yesterday i let the girls out (for the second time since having them) Well about a couple of mins later Orakiah (Younger of the 2) streched her neck out and started strutting/prancing around the garden then went in the run but she made a really (and i mean really) Loud noise the whole time and carried on for a few mins later. The neighbours even had a look to see if they were ok. Does anyone know why she did this? (i've never heard any chicken make this noise before) She did it after going by the brick built shed (it was the first time she went near there too) thanks in advance, Raina
Griffin
Sounds like she frightened herself You'll find they do make one hell of a noise if there is something they think they should be worried about. Maybe she saw a cat or something?
Raina
lol i don't think she saw a cat, (i couldn't see one) She might have seen my Border Collies nose through the bottom of the shed door?
meezers
lol i don't think she saw a cat, (i couldn't see one) She might have seen my Border Collies nose through the bottom of the shed door? Yeah, that would have done it ! I mean you have to admire her logic - she only saw the nose, who knows what monster it was attached to ?? Funniest thing I saw my lot panic about was a hot air balloon, it went right over our garden when they were shut in their run- the noise ( from the girls ) was incredible, they were running around in circles , can just imagine they were shouting 'don't panic , don't panic '
Raina
lol, they didn't even seem bothered when my Bedlington Terrier, Bedley had climbed on top of the run
Patricia W
Mine object ( loudly) to anything which may be a threat: - Police helicopter overhead - red kite overhead - Holly, the cocker spaniel in the garden ( she's not normally allowed- she has the front garden) - Poppy the cat, taking a new route through the garden ( to avoid said chooks which are really pterodactyls, mum, how could you get them.. ) - pile of paving slabs in a new place in the garden...... No logic - but it only lasts a short time. Tricia
