close call for peppa and nugget

Recommended Posts

My three girls are contained within Omlet netting and let out to roam around within the netting most days after 3pm ish.

Then at night they go back in the run and hop in the cube and I go out and get the food in and shut the cube door and the run door til the morning.

Tonight I went out with my torch to shut it all up and heard some funny noises. I put the torch in the cube and couldnt see the girls but could still hear funny noises. My heart went in my throat as I imagined them laying hurt somewhere.

i went round and opened the nest hole and there was only one GNR in there. Our garden is very small so I panned the torch round and then found peppa GNR and nugget PP huddled together OUTSIDE of the netting by the shed.

I can only assume they have managed to escape and then couldnt get back in. I had to pick them up and out them in and shut the door.

Bless them they are still making squeaks I just hope they are ok.

It could have been really bad as they were just out in the open.

Little escape artists.

Phew! I have had to scout round the garden on a number of occasions with a torch, whispering "chickens...chickens..." and the escapee has been found by listening for her reply!! :D It's awful not being able to find them so glad your 2 are ok :)

Our batties hadn't escaped, but when we moved the eglu, they all went back to it's old position and had started to roost under the bench and table which we'd put there! Dozy birds had been playing in & out of the eglu & run all day in it's new position

Glad all was well, but you do have your heart in your mouth for a while don't you!

So glad it all ended well :D

Early last winter the door into the yard must have blown shut during the day so, when I got home, four of the then six were asleep near the closed door and toddled off to their (cube green) as soon as I opened it, but two were missing .

Off I went with the torch, in the wind and rain, hunting round the flower beds till I found them both - safe and well and fast asleep :D, and both in separate but equally inaccesible places . I ended up with bruises and scratches and they were both fine, though they whinged no end at being woken up and moved. I still remember how physically ill I felt till I found them - and that door is now well and truly wedged open! :D
