Couperwife Posted May 10, 2009 Share Posted May 10, 2009 we have just walked from home to sunny Saltburn-by-the-Sea. it was lovely anyway, on the way back we walked through the allotments (they have chickens and we were hoping to see some ) on our "chicken hunt" we met this man and his wife who had an allotment with about 20 chickens on it, he invited us in and showed us his "girls", he also had a buff orpington cockeral and a good selection of "girls" as we were leaving his plot he offered us some plants one pumpkin 2 dark red sunflowers and 2 preans these are a cross between a pea and a bean, and seem to be from ireland we found this preans linky thing we are hoping that we will be able to save some seeds and "spread to word" or seeds has anyone else heard of them?? cathy x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lesley Posted May 11, 2009 Share Posted May 11, 2009 I was going to say no.......then I looked at the photo - I took a photo of a flower just like that on my peas yesterday!!! Did you notice this on the link you posted? originally from an Agricultural Research Station in Ireland, came to the Heritage Seed Library via the Saltburn Allotment Society.
