rabbitfluff
Last year when one of my girls went broody, she was a bit half-hearted about it, and sitting her on ice packs for a couple of days seemed to snap her out of it. This time though she's much more determined to sit it out. I bought a dog crate thing to use as a broody cage to hopefully bring her to her senses but I have a couple of questions: The mesh size of the cage is 1" by about 3" - will this be too wide for her to walk/stand on, as I have visions of finding her stuck with her legs dangling through the bottom of the cage? What do I do with her when she's in the cage? Do I just leave her in the run with the others? And what should I do at night? Should I cover up the cage or bring her in the house even, or will she be ok just left in the run? How long is it likely to take? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Tim
Egluntyne
I agree the 1" x 3" sounds as if it might be a bit wide. Perhaps another layer of mesh over the top to make it safer. I have found that normally three days is long enough. I also leave it propped up on bricks in the run so that the cooling breezes work from all angles. Redwing
I also leave it propped up on bricks in the run so that the cooling breezes work from all angles. She will look like her wheels have been stolen
