Guest
I've found a local sewing club so I'm making enquiries about joining. I want to start by making tote bags. The last time I sewed anything was at school and I made a total hash of it anyway, this was about 30 years ago so I'm an absolute beginner! My mum is an accomplished sewer/knitter but I know we'll fall out if I ask her to teach me! I'm quite excited!

Chook n Boo Mum
Gosh, sounds like I'm jumping on all bandwagons on here tonight...I've made several morsbags - never registered officially to say so though !! I intended to make one for each of DD's classmates to take all their toot home in at the end of term...I cut out the first 10 I think & have only managed to sew up 4 I think.....only a further 10 to sew to do her class! I actually had the first one I made in my bag when I met with earthmam1 & smanners today....spooky! Good luck with the lessons Poet, it can be such a worthwhile hobby to take up...says she with more UFOs than is really necessary!!!! Guest
have a look at these on the morsbag forum, they're lovely! http://www.morsbags.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1646 I'm going to dig out some fabric and get practising. Wonder if we should try and organise a pod. We're all so widespread I'm not sure it would be worth it but I'll have a think on that one. Chook n Boo Mum
Cathy, have you moved the pics into an album on Photobucket? If you have they need to be uploaded from their new "home" as this link is no longer valid. I learnt this the hard way too!! Sha x

*mummy_hen*
I want to make some of these bags - some for myself and some for my christmas presents to go in this year. Have been having a look in charity shops and the like for some nice fabric and wondered - would it be ok to use old clothes, such as skirts, etc to make these? I have seen lots of pretty fabrics but wasn't sure wher it would be ok to use fabrics such as clothes?
