AJuff
I found this in on the roosting bar today!!! It's a hard egg completely covered with with a rubber like substance. I think it's come from one of the marans because of it's colour, she must be the one who has been passing kormas for two days? What's going on?? help!!!!! peggotty
Yum, yum . Did you poach or fry it . Mind you, seeing the horrors that my hens love to munch on throughout the day, I think this 'egg' is more like what you'd expect them to produce! katieadams
Euw !! I'm sure I read on here somewhere they can sometimes lay an egg within an egg, maybe it's that kind of thing?
AJuff
Well I washed it and peeled away the layer of YUK. It was like a latex glove!! Inside the egg was normal but we haven't the stomach to eat it!!!!!
ubereglu
Has she laid another one since? It looks a bit like a normal egg, then with a softy type shell encasing it.

AJuff
Jules, that's what I wondered but it was totally encased in it, not just covered in it.
