Valkyrie
Well I didn't manage to get any decent photos of them at 4 weeks - they move so fast that all I get is a blur! So here are the latest taken this morning while the sun peeked out. Jiu Jiu is up close, gobby madam next, and Squirt hunting (just like her mum used to): A nice one of Squirt - she has a much darker neck Finally Jiu Jiu (my fingers rebel at typing this daft name) who has more yellow on her (???) neck feathers. They are rounded, but the lighter colouring disguises that. I hope she isn't a boy - I will be miffed with the vet otherwise!

Valkyrie
Squirt seems to be the more friendly of the bunch, allowing me to tickle her chest today while the others run away squawking.

Ours are just coming out black underneath.

I knew really early on with last years hatch as pekins fairly easy to tell, but got the feeling I'm in for lots of boys this time which is not a major problem as the breeder will take them all back if needed but I do want to keep a couple

Egg Lou
For dinner? Meant keep a couple out of the hatch .. i.e girls I'm a vege so won't be eating any of them although have friends who are keen..luckily the breeder is happy to have most of the purebreeds I have back for future breeding except sussex & legbar so if boys these may well be his either his dinner or the keen friends

Chook n Boo Mum
Now Koojie is that a "pie crust promise" - easily broken....I do hope so, I love chickypiccies!!! Can't see I'll be allowed any chicks of my own yet awhile, so I have to come on here for a fix every day...and sometimes several times every day So the more piccies the better in my book !! Valkyrie
Phew, Eggy! I thought it would be very hard to dispose of our cuties - I was seriously impressed with the misunderstanding! Wild Mum - I will probably do it again - Eggy will hold my arm behind my back until I give in!
Egg Lou
Phew, Eggy! I thought it would be very hard to dispose of our cuties - I was seriously impressed with the misunderstanding! Wild Mum - I will probably do it again - Eggy will hold my arm behind my back until I give in! Oh yes you will indeed! You'd be proud of my will power yesterday, another friend is looking after a some chickens on the farm we keep our horse at while owners away.. anyway a couple died (age and fox) so I took her to local breeder to get 3 pullets.. same place I bought eggs from and whose having my boys.. I very nearly came away with a female CLB and a Araucana day old to add to brood... but no.. I thought better of it! there's always next time I'll have to take you to this place.. not keen on a couple of the pens but so easy to get carried away as every breed under the sun and he knows his chickens!
