Thanks to you all for taking the time to post. It helps to have your support. I know when I go into work tomorrow no one else will quite understand what it's like.

 

I am hoping that it was quick. I would hate to think that they suffered for long. I did check all the garden with dog on lead just in case any were hiding, but no luck. I've left the run and coop open just in case, but being realistic, they have gone.

I am so sorry hope you have stopped feeling guilty as it was not your fault.

 

We all take chances and most of the time we are just lucky. I am constantly taking chances leaving my girls to free range all day when I know that I am not around to supervise.

 

Your girls had a happy life with you and I hope that you feel able to offer more hens a chance of freedom
