Angels4
that Coco is a roo. I'm holding out hope that I will get an egg any day, but just look at the difference between Coco and Chanel. I recieved them at 8 weeks of age on 3/5/09 so at this time they would be about 14 weeks or 3.5 months. What do you all think? Egluntyne
Sorry, Mark, I think you might be hoping against hope. As you say, the differences are noticeable. The comb and wattles, the stance, the legs and the back feathers are beginning to sweep over, cockerel style. How do the hackle feathers compare.....it isn't easy to tell from the photo? I'm guessing that Coco's will be more pointed.
Falkor
I am afraid that I think you have a roo too...... Coco has more face furniture than my nine (36w) month old Orp Also with regards to eggs I think you may have a bit of a wait yet....my buff Orp waited until she was six months (24w) and my jubilee was another month behind her! Although Jubilee are slower to mature.....well mine seems to generally be a bit slow in all departments! Fingers crossed for you though......maybe Coco is just an early starter? But I am with Egluntine...those feathers are sweeping down
TAJ
Looks like one of each to me - I agree with all Egluntine's reasons why. Tracy

Angels4
I wish I could keep him. I guess I am going to have to face facts........Coco is a boy and needs to go back to the farm to live out his life. What do you all think about getting a new girl. Will I have to go through all the same introduction steps or do you think the others will just accept a newbie?
The Dogmother
You'd definitely have to go through the intros again.... sorry It's always easier to introduce two (or more) birds than one
Angels4
I've decided to keep just the three girls until after I get my run situation sorted. Is it weird if I change Chanels name to Coco?
The Dogmother
I don't think she'd mind Mark
