My sister's keeper

Recommended Posts

I have just seen the trailer for the upcoming film 'my sister's keeper. It has Cameron Diaz in - not sure who else. I absolutely loved this book, although so sad, I wonder if the film will be just as good. Also I wonder if they will play out the same ending?

Not sure whether to go to the cinema or wait for the DVD...

Anyone know when it is due out?

Oo i'm glad you enjoyed the book. I'm definately going to read the book before i watch the film. I have done it the other way round before(film first, book after) and then the book wasn't as good as i expected because it was different to the film.

I'm going to see if any of the friends want to see it in the cinema otherwise i'll wait for the DVD. I have never cried at films but never seen one that involved a terminal illness and the strains that it puts on the family involved.

i loved the book too :D i don't think films ever live up to the books, i enjoyed reading the divinci code but didn't like the film at all. although the harry potter films were good, i think they did well and stuck to the books as much as possible :)

We saw the trailer last night. I didn't manage to finish the book as I got too upset. My cousin and grandmother both died of leukemia when I was a teenager so it made me cry (even after all these years). :(

Sorry to hear that Seagazer, that is so sad to lose two people like that :(

Thanks Faye - it was especially hard losing my cousin as she was only 21 and so sad visiting her in hospital.

My first thought when I started reading was that there were some friends I would definitely not lend it to, being too close to their own tragedies.

However, I thought it was a brilliant book, probably her best. A clever mix of grief and humour, and also simplicity and complex twists.

Interested to hear about a film, but not sure if I want to see it or not, it's hard when you've visualised the book so clearly
