4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I left a box out in the garden (clear storage thing) by accident as was supposed to go in the shed by kind of just been sitting!

 

I just had a look in it as was about to pour the rain water out that had gathered in it and clean it out and I noticed hundreds of this little things swimming and darting about in it.

 

What are they, how do they get there and is it ok (or cruel) to just pour them away?

Are they swimming in a sort of 'figure of 8' fashion ?

 

They might me mozzys getting ready to hatch.

 

If you have a pond with fish, pour them in......the fish will love 'em.

They sort of squiggle about if that makes sense.... I feed them to the hens by fishing them out and laying the net on the ground inside out.

 

You don't want a cloud of mozzies hatching out!

OOOOH gross - going in the street down the drain (husband will have to do it). Thought it was going to be something exciting for my son to watch and feed!!!
