I've (Edit) NOT won a Yellow Eglu!

Recommended Posts

We ended up with a new one from Cotswold Chickens for this reason.

We were looking at around £280 for an old one and the one closest to us was a Mark 1 which needed the rungs replacing.

We had a lovely drive down and lunch out when we went to collect it so it was a good day all round. :D .

Moomperu, any news from Ebay as to whether they will take action against this toerag?

Sorry I'm being nosy, but I really don't think he should get away with it.....he should check his listings before he presses submit, he'd listed it as "new" the second time & had to retract that as a typing error

A bit more, but if he has to pay 10% of the original BIN price tha takes £25 off, so around an extra £20, maybe? If the highest bidder does pay! What a load of hassle for someone. I'd certainly not trust that seller, or want to buy anything from him.

Hi Wild Mum,

Ebay weren't very helpful at all really. You can only email customer service and for days I kept getting generic responses from them. After some very firm words, they told me the following:

I would like to inform you that eBay only provides a market place for

buyers and sellers to interact just as a local authority might provide a

physical venue for a market to take place. We have limited legal powers

and responsibilities. We provide the listing and bidding systems, but we

do not authenticate users, verify items or guarantee that you will

receive payment or the item.

Therefore, I have to be honest in with you this situation that we cannot

force the seller to sell you the item.

They didn't seem to understand that I didn't want the seller to be forced to sell the Eglu to me, I just wanted the new listing suspended. However, as they get money for each listing, I guess it's not in their interests.

In the end, it got a bit nasty with the seller - they didn't like me reporting them, or leaving the bad feedback. The final communications were very unpleasant so I'm letting it rest. I know that I've always done my best to do right by people and the seller can't say the same thing - I don't have a yellow eglu (or bantams galore), but I'll keep my eyes peeled and the right one will come along.

Thanks again for all your support. I shall bother you all for bantam choosing advice when the time comes.

You poor thing, shame ebay is such a niche market really, there's no real competition so the don't need to have any "moral" obligations :shameonu: .Maybe he's an MP & working "within the rules" in his own little muddled mind :anxious:

I'm surprised they've got such "sloping shoulders" though....as Claret says his time will come

Good luck in your search for a home for bantams,
