hi everyone (again!)

S8000949.jpg

we are currently renovating our old chicken house and have found loads of these stone ring things in there and outside in the run too... does anyone know what they are? as we are new to chicken keeping, we dont know! are they nests? or are they for pouring chicken food in to! we would like to keep the chicken house original and reuse as much as possible! and save some money too!!!

thanks once again!!!

kindest regards

no idea but they look like they might be feed troughs? Just been looking at your photos, I'm so jealous, your house is gorgeous! Did you win the lottery? :D How long have you been living in France? What made you move there?

Sorry for being nosey but it's been a bit of a dream of ours for a long time now and I always find it interesting to hear stories from people who've actually done it, how they managed it and why they did it :D

hi!!! we will use them for food then!! lol! got the rings in different sizes too!?!

and no, we didnt win the lottery! (i wish!) just regular people! and being gay we dont have any kids to pay for! :o) being a non famous artist and musician we dont get lots of money coming in!! thats why we have to live as cheaply as possible!! grow our own food, mend n make do with things! and luckily France is a lot cheaper to live in than the UK!!! not thats the reason we moved here!! we just loved the peace n quiet, clean air, wine and the scenery! and the fact we never got to see much of each other working all the time in the UK... and now we wake up together everyday! :o)

theres brits here who own huge chateaux so we are the 'poor' relations lol!

thanx again and again and again for the help! our 6 hens which we are getting next month (woo hoo!!!!) will be appreciative of it!

Drew hasnt exhibited since we left the UK as all of our time has been spent fixing up the house.... the joys of an old house! :)

Hmm, maybe they were nests.

They could be nothing to do with chickens but to hold up fence posts or something like that  They look a bit like those mineral licks you can get for horses/sheep, but it wouldn't have gone that hard.

They would make good feeders though :D
