sleepymummy
I am almost done worming my two and am trying the grape method as the 'in with the feed' method concerned me as they didn't seem to eat very much. Gloria , my poorly/broody/i have no idea hen has been pinching Marsha's grapes. Not all of them. i've put a bit of the powder on to 2 halves of a grape and given them a whole grape each. Gloria keeps nicking Marsha's out of her mouth. Marsha is tickertyboo by the way. Today, after thinking we were on the up after weeks of no eggs and general misery, Gloria has a very dirty bottom (warm water enough to wash off?) The poo is white and loose. Her comb has drooped, it is pale and the feathers at her back end, before her tail feathers look raised. Is she cooling down or does her bottom hurt? She has spread her wings a lot today as if she needs air in her armpits and she is still going to bed early. She went at 745 today so i coaxed her out by letting her free range in the garden. i have been doing that every evening. Perhaps I should just let he go to bed? Perhaps I should run her back to the vets tomorrow?
Egluntyne
They often hold a wing out to cool down. If you are unhappy with her you would be best taking her to the vet for a look see.
sleepymummy
Thanks, I went out earlier to wash her bottom. Didn't do a very good job. She was very wobbly. She tripped over twice. I decided to take her to the vets tomorrow. I'm not happy all. It's very puzzling.
Egluntyne
If she is wobbly, she is in a weakened state. If you can get an appointment today it might be best. Good luck.
Chucky Mama
I hope that everything sorts itself out and that she is OK. I agree that a trip to the vet ASAP is the best plan. If it is a Flubenvet problem (which I would doubt) it needs reporting officially. The form can be found here: http://www.vmd.gov.uk/General/Adverse/mal252.pdf The stats of possible side effects/reactions to drugs need to be monitored to ensure the safety of the drugs that we are using and the wellbeing of animal being treated. Good Luck
sleepymummy
Many thanks for your replies. I'll try and get there this afternoon. Have to work around school pick up and parents evening today! She looks fairly perky today and she is dinking and eating but definitely not right. I was half expecting her not to appear this morning. I'll check with the vet about the Flubenvet and see what she says.
