Meet Winnie, Lottie and Bettie :)

Recommended Posts

My lovely OH trecked up to Leyland today to pick up the girls from a lovely lady on the Pratical Poultry Forum. I was busy doing a car boot with daughter and friend raising money for her expedition next year

Here they are:

Winnie the Welsummer (13 weeks)

Lottie the Cream Legbar ( 12 weeks)

and Bettie the Buff Orpington (we think is Bettie anyway) (8 weeks)

My big girls havent stopped sqwaking since they saw them so the hose has come out to quieten them down

Anyone any views on whether Bettie is a girl? She certainly doesnt have much headgear or wattles and the woman said she was different form the one she thought was a boy as he had more headgear?

Thanks for the compliments! Lottie is very much darker than my first legbar Ellie but she has bluey white ears so I'm hoping for Blue eggs. WInnie is very gentle and quiet with such dark ears I can hardly tell them from her feathers. Bettie is a darling - she is still cheeping away being a bit younger than the other girls - I am sure her cheeping is what set my big girls off yesterday - everytime she started up they went mad bok bokking and have driven me mad with the noise. They seem to be getting used to seeing the babies now though as they have been quiet this afternoon at last :roll:
