moochoo
I can't believe it! Hubby and I went to Henley-in-Arden market today. They have an egg and poultry auction today but that wasn't the main reason for going. Although we did spend a good hour having a look. I got hypotised by a beautiful broody buff Orpington sitting on 6 eggs that was for sale. I was fantastising about bidding on her and settling her into our empty eglu....then I came to my senses! I really don't have room for Orpingtons in my cube and when the chicks were all grown up they couldn't stay in the eglu.....phew, that was a close one Nice to dream though. Olly
You're stronger than me! So what ARE you going to put in the spare Eglu then. Don't you know it's against the law to have an empty Eglu and no plans for it! You're probably right about the chicks though, it's what to do with the boys that always puts me off. Redwing
Well done, very restrained! We went to a sale a while ago and saw a pekin hen with 2 day old chicks climbing all over her, whole lot £20 but I was dragged away by hubby
moochoo
The spare eglu is really for the table birds. It's just empty at the minute as the previous occupants are in the freezer. I'm collecting some new chicks tomorrow. I did try and work out that I had five weeks to arrange other accomodation for the chicks as they'd be in the brooder until then. I can assure you that all logistal possibilities were concidered.
