Anyone seen Mamma Mia at the Prince of Wales Theatre?

Recommended Posts

Just wondered if anyone had seen the show.

My mum absolutely loved the film so for her 50th birthday in September (sssh she doesn't like anyone to know :shh: ) i have booked tickets for her, me and my sister and a fancy hotel in london with swimming paul and spa!

I love doing nice things for people....the worst bit now is going to be keeping it a secret till September!!

What a lovely daughter your mum has! Such an exciting and thoughtful gift. She'll have very fond memories of her 50th.

I went to see Mama Mia on stage a couple of years ago and it is very very like the film (minus the sea!).

Hope you all enjoy the spa and the show. I know you will.

I went to see it with my sister and mum earlier this year and it was absolutely fantastic! If your mum's anything like mine she'll love it and you won't be able to stop her singing and dancing the night away! Finish off the evening by jumping into a rickshaw to take you back to the hotel. We had a lovely view  on the way back to the hotel and laughed all the way - especially after we had been dropped off and realised that we had gone to the wrong hotel!

Thats a lovely thing to do. We (OH and I) went to see it a few weeks back, had a night in a hotel as well in Leicester Square. It was brilliant, even better in some ways than the film! And I love the film :D The girl who played Sophie when we saw it was Niamh (sp?) from the Oliver audition programme, she was quite good although needed a slightly stronger voice in my opinion. My OH became besotted with the lady that played Tanya, she was off the tv - Casualty years back.

The theatre is lovely, very art deco. It'll be fantastic :D

Went on thursday for my birthday treat. Really enjoyed it. Especially the semi naked men ;) agree with seagazer that Niamh as Sophie needed a slightly stronger voice though. They do more songs then in the film version, some of it is SO similar but there are other bits that are more risque then the film version - and some swearing if you're planning on taking children.

Theatre is lovely though!
