the only think to consider if it is butted up to the WIR is how are you going to push the roof forward if it is fixed?

You could add a 8) slot like cookie monsters to the run

I know Sha (wildmum) has her (cube orange) on the ground outside the run but I am not sure what she does with her roof...she is on her hols now i think.

you'll still need to be able to slide the roof forward to get it off to clean it though Anne, hence why I have a slidey hole

if you dont have that you will have to be able to slide the sube back away from the WIR enough to slide the roof forward to open it.

lolol well hubby kind of pulled the cube back a bit slid the roof forward so it hit the WIR wood going across and then marked around with his pencil then cut it out with the jigsaw, I know he's a carpenter but I know others have done this and I dont think they are all carpenters

For added security (as you are left with a gap) mine has the piece of wood that is cut out slotted back over on the outside... hard to explain... but this means there are no gaps for rodents etc to get in..

If you need me to go take close ups of this just hollar you know where I am. ;)

ok here they are...

the roof slide upwards towards the WIR so you need a slot with clearance for it to do this...however it does leave a gap... so I used the piece the came out of the slot to cover the gap outside.

I hope this makes sense???the piece of wood just slides up I rest it on my roof and slide the roof open, easy! The piece of wood is on two picture hanging brackets that click over two little screws on the walk in run and drop down to cover the gap... I hope the photos make that clear enough for you.

Hi

I did try to get Cookie M to send me her clever husband but alas I had to butt the cube up to my wir from the outside. I hardly move it & dont remove the roof much but its on slabs and it would be very heavy to move without its quite a solid house...also you still need to slide out the cleaning trays at the back?

Not v good at posting pics but did so a while back

good luck

indie :)
