African land snail!!

Recommended Posts

My ED has three of these. As she isn't that brilliant about looking after them, it takes so much effort :!: I keep threatening to sell some so she just has one left. I will have a chat to her tomorrow to see what she thinks. Trouble is, you are quite a way from me and I can't drive.

Perhaps we could set up a snail train? Wouldn't be very fast though!

She does a clean every week, and checks for old food when she walks past. She also sprays them with water as and when. We do a complete clean every couple of months and clear out all the old bedding, wash the tank etc.

Ebay normally have tons. Unusual breeds too :D

Also they can be sent through the post

Sounds a bit crazy but they are fine if they are packaged well and I would only suggest posting on a Monday, Tuesday or wednesday so that they don't get stuck in the sorting office over the weekend but even so-they would no doubt be fine :D

Haven't got any to give you though-sorry.

We have 2. One is a lovely yellow shell with a greyish body and the other is a browny shell with a pure white body.

They cannot breed together as the yellow one is a live bearer :D

You get more results if you just type 'Land snails' into the Ebay search bar

This is like the one with a white body but I can't find a pic of the one with a yellow shell. I will try to remember to take a photo later :D

thanks blue, but think I have sourced some nearer to home, they are 2-3 months old. they are for OH's 14yr old, do you think he'll be able to look after them? Hopefully they wont freak his mother out too much!!!!

Any other pearls of wisdom on care is greatfully recieved :D:D:D:D:D
