teri
well the chicks are now 8 weeks old and all look completely different!!!! when i brought the eggs i had 6 chaucer bantams, (which tom kindly found pictures of for me because i couldn't find anything out about them) and 6 frizzles. i marked all of the eggs and plonked them under my broody. unfortunatley the marks rubbed off i know i definatley have 2 frizzles as you can't miss them! this is fizz who up until last week looked like a girl...but now looks like a boy? this is fuzz who up until last week lokked like a boy...but now looks like a girl i also have 2 chaucer bantams identified from toms pictures this is Number Seven and granddad Roy both girls however i also have three other chicks that could be anything!!! this is Charlie who eveyone thought was a boy because of the very red wattles....which have now disappeared breed unknown! this is Lola (a.k.a. Hairdo chick) most likley a girl again breed unknown and finally Racing stripes again most likley a girl but breed ???? i got the eggs from a local farmers market auction so i do not have any other info than what they look like your help would be great! Lewis
I think Lola looks a bit like a pekin bantam? A poultry auction in cannock, where? Just asking for a friend (don't tell Dad )
smudgley
I think Lola looks a bit like a pekin bantam? A poultry auction in cannock, where? Just asking for a friend (don't tell Dad ) Penkridge Market every Wed. Starts with eggs at 12.30. then they do the polultry. It gets very busy there, so get there early if you want to look at the birds before the auction starts.
likeabalalaika
Oh my word - what beautiful chicks and what a great mix. They must look so lovely all together. I've never heard of a chaucer bantam - they're so beautifully marked and coloured. Great names too. Each of them really suit their names. Fizz and Fuzz Lola has a bit of a silkie poufy thing going on on top, hasn't she? Lovely girl. Racing Stripes (awwwww) is gorgeous too but I have no idea what breed she is. Thank you for posting these lovely photos.

Daphne
Charlie could be a wyandotte or dotte X with the yellow legs/beak. Lola looks like she's got some poland in her. They look happy and healthy, thats the main thing
Falkor
Great looking chooks! Lola looks a lot like my Rum who is a Mille-Fluer cross Silkie/poland...same funky hair do
Daphne
At the breeders I saw a silkie-feathered poland. She's bred from poland x poland and they aren't sure why she has silkied feathers. They lie smooth like a poland but they are like silkie 'fur' to touch If they manage to breed any more I'm going to get one (or possibly a pair )
teri
hi palmer07, Rum is simply georgeus she has simular colouring to my chaucer bantams. Lola does have the silkiest feathers ever, i just love stroking her...she quite enjoys it aswell
