Samuel Morse
Just recently moved my hen house (last night) and have noticed tonight that there are load of eggs (opps! - I mean ants!) in the bedding. There's a train of them, which I think is what happens when they are shuttling back and forth to get food. Should I be concerned? I don't think the chickens will be eaten alive, but I don't want them to be uncomfortable.

Ms Tilytinkle
Hello Samuel Morse, Yes ours absolutely love them too, we had a nest they disturbed & we couldn't stop laughing watching their frantic attempt to eat the zillions of emerging ants, ha wonder how they will be when the ants fly . .or maybe they've flown erm not sure . . but if it was my chooks bedding, I would want to try to remove it even if the chickens do eat them, it just seems better without but thats just how I feel. The Dogmother
Mine love ants too, and have been having a field day with all the flying ants. You can sprinkle them with Diatom to get rid if you want.
