Today I contacted the company doing the auditions as we hadn't heard from them. I spoke to one of the interviewers who told me that although they loved Eden and he was his and the other interviewer's personal favourite, when the production team reviewed the tapes they felt they wanted to represent a cross section of Britain's children, from different ethnic backgrounds and from all parts of the country and unfortunately Eden wasn't selected.

 

I feel that is racism, he wasn't selected because he wasn't from a ethnic background and that is the only reason.

I think its really bad of them if they said yes, to then say no, and not to get in contact with you!

 

Hopefully he'll be ok and might get to be on something else.

Sorry only just caught up with this thread! Poor Eden! That is so unfair for the company to say yes and then no.

i totally agree that it is a form of racism and it really makes me if they loved him and he was what they were looking for, his ethnic background should have nothing to do with it.

 

i hope he isn't too upset and goes on to bigger and better things

He's taking it rather well after the initial disapointment - with his usual philosophical thinking he said that one door closes to allow a bigger one to open... ( where does he read these things...?)

 

I was the one kicking and throwing the toys out of the pram...
