amywaymee
Hello everyone I have been on this Omlet website so many times I've lost count and have been a fan of the Eglu for ages but have had a hard time convincing my hubby that it would be a great idea to get some girls for our garden but finally, after lots of nagging and even abit of sulking he has finally agreed to buy me an eglu for my wedding anniversary next week, me and my kids Jack and Meg are so excited and cannot wait to get our order on. I have become obsessed with chickens but have yet to locate where I will get my chickens from (we live in Whitby, North Yorkshire quite rural so how hard can it be!) Every time I logged onto the hen party courses it would seem that no-one in my area is an eglu fan although me and the kids did spot a green eglue cube at Robin Hoods Bay (about 6 miles from us) and were really tempted to knock on the door so its great to have this site so that I can get advice from other eglu owners. Will keep you posted as to when the eglu will arrive. hi amys son jack here my dad has had to gag me because i talk so much about chickens
Patricia W
Welcome! Be warned it is SO addictive. I started with a green eglu and now have added a red one and a green cube..... I used to spend my holidays as a child at Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby- so beautiful. I'm sure it must be chicken country too. Enjoy choosing them - that's half the fun Tricia
Gelbel
Hello everyone I have been on this Omlet website so many times I've lost count and have been a fan of the Eglu for ages but have had a hard time convincing my hubby that it would be a great idea to get some girls for our garden but finally, after lots of nagging and even abit of sulking he has finally agreed to buy me an eglu for my wedding anniversary next week. hi amys son jack here my dad has had to gag me because i talk so much about chickens My husband was quite anti as the thought he'd be lumbered with the cleaning I've sworn blind he will not. We got our 3 yesterday and he has gone as as me over our girls. He's showing the photos on his phone to anyone that will listen/look. Of course, it would be 'his' that today. So don't worry about you hubby/dad - he'll soon be as hooked as you all.
chick wiggle
Hi and welcome, congratulations on convincing your OH to get you an eglu, ( I suppose a cube is one step too far? ) Be warned, you WILL want more chickens . I was going to get an eglu too but my OH said No, get a cube, I know you and you will want more chickens! How well he knows me You will not regret getting one as they are soo easy to clean etc and the chickens are adorable and so amusing, we have been in fits of laughter with ours. We live not too far from Hull and love whitby, lucky you living there Let us know how you get on Oh and dont worry about your OH he will be as hooked as you before you know it. My OH is as i type down the garden building a hugh WIR (walk in run) for the girls
Space Chick
Congratulations, you will not regret it. Getting my girls has been wonderful, they keep me entertained and in a supply of the best eggs you'll ever taste. You're OH will quickly love them. When mine doesn't think I am in ear shot, he always chats away to the girls, feeds them grapes and generally makes a big fuss of them. Its hard not to be won over when you get to know their fab individual personalities. We currently have 7 and they all have different personalities (I say currently, as we are getting 3 ex battery hens on Saturday. Its not addictive keeping chickens )
Ain't Nobody Here
Welcome to the forum . Congratulations on getting an eglu for your anniversary . Great present . It's great fun and as Debs says, not in the least addictive . (I started with 3 and an eglu with run, I now have a walk in run (see my signature ) and am getting 2 more girlies in a week or so .)
