Does anyone else play Scrabble on FB? Its quite addictive. My and hubby usually have a game in the evening, though I am CERTAIN he cheats as I have never won yet.

 

I am actually thinking of buying the board game for family evenings.

I just log on a couple of times during the day for a catch up.....................OK then, about 8 times

Just rack 'em up then - I play with strangers most of the time.Had a couple of dodgy experiences, but nothing the delete button couldn't handle

I started a game with a stranger but she's not played for 2 days . Could it be 'cos I was beating her ?

 

I sometimes look at their photos and if they look semi-normal try to click "play" but I'm always too slow .

You can 'force forfeit' them - how do you think I got my percentage so high?

 

You need to just click on them straight away - if you decide you don't like the look of them, or if they do something horrid like BINGO you on the first move, you can cancel the game , as its not a legit game until both player have moved

me and my boyfriend stopped playing the board game, we are too different to play!!!! I play to think of the most clever words, and he just puts really short words like HOME and S's on the end of things and clobbers me. I end up being put off by how unintellectual-like he is by the end of it.

What's a BINGO move ?

 

Jess, I hate playing Scrabble with my OH for that very reason. He also takes hours and hours to put his word down .

A Scrabble "bingo" is when you use all 7 letters in your rack. If you score a bingo, you get the point value of the letters in the word plus 50 bonus points. Therefore, it is highly desirable to score a bingo any time you can.

 

Tournament level Scrabble players build much of their Scrabble strategy around scoring bingos. The player will hold on to a blank tiles with the hopes of scoring a bingo, while playing rare letters for low scores. Competitive SCRABBLE players might score three bingos per game, while beginners are quite lucky to score one bingo.

Just played a game with some random woman and somehow I skipped (I'm sure I didn't ) then a forced forfeit appeared (again I'm sure I didn't ).

I never play with strangers on a less than a day per move basis, because they will FF you in a heartbeat
