Hi all,

I don't know what to get for the run floor.

With the hemp, i can use that for bedding (Chooks & Tortoises) & for the run floor, but have read i need to keep it dry.

Rubber Chippings, was going to buy some but Flyte So Fancy said they wouldn't recommend them for chooks

Wood Chipping,we've had some of that before for our garden and it did smell after it got wet & the dogs weeing on it,but my mum thinks it's the best to get

TIA,

Raina :D

Aubiose/hemcore, every time. Yes, you need to keep it dry but it just does such a fantastic job that it's worth the bother of covering the run.

Soaks up everything, lasts for ages, cheap to buy and it composts beautifully. Nothing else will do for me!

Like Olly I'm a convert but need to cover the run to keep it dry. I use shower curtains and just check the weather forcast each morning for covering top and one side, or just the top or leave it off. :D

Lovely dry clean run. Smells fresh, no nasty chicken diseases.

SJP would you reccomend that bedding because I've just looked at the website and it's alot cheaper than aubiose at £1.55 for a 11kg bag and it's only half an hour away?

I only use it in the run for that i reccomend it. but for bedding in the coop I use Bliss mainly because it get changed more offten and it rots down faster
