You could try listening on the radio and seeing what you like?

My (boys) like a lot of the older stuff like Madness and The Bangles! Why not raid your parents' collection - you never know what you might find!

I'd suggest the same that has been suggested. My 12 year old daughter is currently into My Chemical Romance and Green Day. Not sure if they'd be your cup of tea though. Having said that, she was listening to Abba before she got into these, so you never know!
