karlotta
My girls are all named after songs! The only exception is my new Poland/Silkie cross... she was initially called Maria, but she looks just like a little crow (with a quiff!) and somehow managed to get renamed Sheryl! I also have a 5wk orp who I think is a boy... he (maybe!) has aquired the name Roy (Orbison/Orpington!)
Kathy C
Our first three were named after Champagne: Moet, Chandon and Peri (short for Dom Perignon, the prestige cuvee from Moet and Chandon). Very posh, but the ginger of the girls and peri's beautiful dark feathers swung it for us. We briefly considered duck and decided on a whiskey theme: J & B being favorite but we decided not to compromise the "play zone" area for the hens by making a pond. When Chandon joined the heavenly flock in April, we decided we could not continue the champagne theme in respect for Chandon, so started on our favorite grapes instead. Hen the amber star (white) one is Muscadet and the bluebelle became Merlot. What's next? We have had the wine, maybe the cheese?
