Peter S Posted September 1, 2009 Share Posted September 1, 2009 Hi All, One of our girls laid the most enormous egg the other day - it weighed in at 140 g, compared to a more usual 60-65 g. We expected it to be a double yolker, but when we cracked it open, we found a second, perfectly intact, egg inside The "outer" egg had its own yolk and white, as did the inner egg, complete with shell. I presume that the first egg got stuck on its way out the day before, and the second egg simply formed around it, enclosing the first egg in a new shell.
