Penguin
Here's a question...we like the odd drop of Merlot from time to time, and it would appear that Baked also likes a tipple - Andrew gave her a drop a while back and since then she won't leave us alone if we have a glass...is that very naughty and can it cause problems? xScrunchee
I wouldn't give my chickens alcohol as I cannot imagine that it would be good for them. Interested to hear other peoples views though

Interested to hear other peoples views though I'm with you - surely it can't be good for any animal?
CluckyBucks
Mind you, i was watching 'animals do the funniest things' the other day and there was a hen that went to this pub everyday and the manager gave her a pint. Obviously she didnt drink it all but had a fair swig I wouldnt recommend giving any animal alcohol due to it being considered as 'poison' to humans on occasion. xx xx
Forge Cottage
With those little heads it would not take much to have an effect either...! Ours have sometimes stolen a few drops of white wine with no apparent ill effects, apart from knocking a glass over. Last week Mabel stuck her whole head into a Cappucino. It was so quick - and she got the fright of her life! She emerged in a blob of frothy milk with chocolate sprinkles on her head.... We fell about but I don't think she will try that one again! Spottyappy
Our 2, Posh and Pecks, absolutely LOVE beer! They will almost knock my husbands glass from his hand if he doesn't pour them a beer when he has one! They have been known to get slightly tipsy on it, and fall off the edge of the patio! Its only about 3" down to the grass so they don't come to any harm! Interestingly, when they have any, the next eggs shells they lay are almost a cream in colour, instead of brown, and have flecks in them. I don't believe it would do any harm- like with all things in moderation- as animals, and probably birds can be included in that, are very good at only eating(or drinking) what is good and safe for them. They seem to have a knowledge of things that are dangerous etc! Egluntyne
I'm not sure that I'd give them alcohol tbh. They wouldn't encounter it in the wild I wouldn't imagine. A bit like cake really.
Guest
A bit like cake really. Mine go BONKERS for cake - at one hen party Fifi jumped up and grabbed some out of someones hand! Usually the hen party is when they get a few crumbs.
